AVOID A
ROOT CANAL

AVOID ROOT CANAL

This proprietary laser treatment developed by Dr. Randy McCormick, may result in avoidance of a root canal in some patients. Root canals, while a necessary and appropriate treatment, should be avoided if possible. By utilizing laser pulp therapy, we have the ability to restore the nerve, keeping the dental tissues alive and healthy. Utilizing this treatment, we salvage as much natural tooth structure as possible.

Who is a Candidate for Laser Pulp Therapy?

Anyone who is still able to feel thermal changes in the tooth and responds beyond the diagnosis of reversible pulpitis. Teeth in a state of irreversible pulpitis (inflamed dental nerve) with no visible signs of infection.

How Does It Work

The laser destroys bacteria within the first 6mm of the laser tip. Reverses inflammation in the pulp. Odontoblasts are stimulated to lay down reparative dentin. The tooth continues to heal over 6 months to a year.

How Long Does It Take?

The length of treatment depends whether or not sedation is required. Treatment takes anywhere from 25 minutes to 1 hour.

We have had a 95% success rate for patients that appear to have irreversible pulpitis without necrosis.
